BIG BLOCK PRINT PARTY: A STEAMROLLER PRINTMAKING EVENT & Art Festival
May 22, 2010 9am-4pm Cape Fear Blvd (by the boardwalk) Carolina Beach NC
Reception at Le Soleil 4-7pm
This is the first event of its kind in NC or the Southeast. Steamroller printing is art being made live and typically only seen in large cites or universities. We have local and regional artists participating as well as a special guest from Florida, Julia Morrisroe. She will be printing an 8x8 foot print. julia.morrisroe.com
The artists will be printing GIANT 4' x 8' woodcuts onto fabric with a paving roller. Local artists will also be selling their fine art and crafts at booths alongside the event. We appreciate your contributions to help make this landmark event possible which enhances our community! Any donation amount is accepted but we have some packages outlined below to let you know what we can offer.
Be the center of attention with your logo on the Steamroller $275 and up (cash sponsors only, these funds will go toward renting the roller)
SPONSORSHIP PACKAGES and PROGRAM AD RATES:
The event program is a 8.5" x 5.5" booklet to commemorate the event with a list of artists, artist bio, image of recent work, name of print, print process description, concept, etc. and printed in black and white. *Vinyl banners on display at the event must be supplied by sponsor.
3 Ton Steamroller sponsor: $1800 for this amount you will receive:
A Giant 8x8 foot print by visiting artist Julia Morrisroe julia.morrisroe.com (one available, first come first serve)
A full back page program ad (if more than one 3 Ton sponsor then back page is first come first serve)
Logo placement and mention in all print and radio advertising & T-shirt (with the exception of event banner on public right of way entering Cape Fear Blvd)

Web Ads
All full page sponsors will receive a link on the Cape Fear Press home page, the BPBP info page/gallery and the BigPrint BlockParty Facebook pages.
All sponsorships will receive an ad and link on capefearpress.com site on the BPBP info/gallery pages and will be mentioned on Facebook.
Web ads will run from the time paid through 6 months following the event.
Print Sales and Sponsor Prints
All woodblocks will be printed in Graphic Chemical Relief Printing Ink on a tight weave 60/40% Hemp/Organic Cotton Muslin.
**Big Print rewards for sponsors are available for cash sponsors only.
All prints will be available to the public for purchase at the artist reception 4-7pm
Print commission: 60% artist, 40% event coordinator
Individual donations
All donation amounts accepted, we will also have a donation jar at the event.
Individual donors of $25 or more will be listed in our program.

All fees collected from artists and sponsors are going to fund this event which is FREE to the public and no profit is anticipated. The mission of the Big Print Block Party is purely communal, cultural and educational. This unique event will hopefully benefit the area artists as well as the community of Carolina Beach, my hometown for the last 17 years.
