July 28, 2014 I recently had the pleasure of testing this vintage gravure tissue. It is an incredible pigment paper, frozen in 1992 by Craig Zammiello and recently thawed. It performs as if it was made this year! I have limited experience with Autotype so it is great to test the best tissue ever made so I know how the new tissues compare. The tissue for the fern print was brush sensitized and performed the same as a tray sensitized tissue. This is the second plate I have etched with the Hanfstaengl. The first was a digital wedge to verify my exposure and get a feel for how it etches. The tissue was adhered to a Picco dusted plate and etched in 45º, 43º, 41.5º and 40º Baume baths. The Izote ink is straight from the can, no modifications. Photogravure by Jennifer Page, 6.5 x 8.75" ©2014 | ||
